With Q velocity at 0 the damping ratio is fixed at 0.707 whatever you do to the other two, so sweeping R only changes frequency. Lift Q velocity to make damping move.

circle family

A circle turned about its own centre is unchanged, so the rotation only bites once the circle is offset. Offset it, spin the family and shrink it, and the envelope of the circles is a limacon.

None of these machines has home switches, not even the AxiDraws. Each takes wherever its carriage is standing as (0, 0), so park it in its home corner and tick this. Nothing in software can check it, which is why it is asked every time.
Simplify drops points that sit closer to the line than the given fraction of a nib width. You cannot see error smaller than the line is wide, and every point you keep is another accelerate and stop for the motors, so this is what makes a plot smooth rather than jerky.
Segments here average well under a millimetre, so the machine spends most of a segment accelerating and never reaches the speed above. Acceleration is usually the control that changes the time, and speed the one that changes the line quality.
Defaults to 0, fully down, which is how this machine is set up. Raise it if you fit a longer pen or want lighter contact.
